CREATOR'S WORKDAY | Your brainchild needs a playdate.

Get a jumpstart on your professional to-do list. Join other artists and creatives at Creators Workday on Friday and Saturday October 24th and 25th at Houston Station, in the eclectic Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood.

Creator's Workday is an unconference for independent creators.  It's different from other professional development events because its focused on guided practice and coworking; not just lectures and case studies.  You'll get great information (the industry is always changing) AND an opportunity to apply it. Which means you'll leave with new strategies, and a few things knocked off the to-do list.

We won't just talk about what you "should" do, or even what others have done.  We'll actually do it. Right there.

Creator's Workday will take place on Friday night October 24th and Saturday October 25th and is focused on creative endeavors: startups, authors, musicians, artists and brands.

Let's get some real work done on your business & career.  We're here to help you by giving great information and a space to work, so you can get on with your project, business and brand. Grab your laptop and head to downtown Nashville for a day;  meet great people who are also building "a guy-and-a-laptop" businesses, and get real answers to your questions.

WHAT IS CREATOR'S WORKDAY?
The weekend will start with some refreshments, a structured meet and greet, and a round-table discussion with the coaches. Beginning at 1pm on Saturday each coach will offer an hour of guided practice, and will also hold "office hours" so you can get detailed answers to your specific questions one-on-one. There will be coworking time so you can get work done, and you'll walk out with some new connections, some useful information, and a headstart on your to-do list.

WHO IS CREATOR'S WORKDAY?

Two coaches and a host who love seeing creative people succeed.  Each of the coaches are experts in their fields and do this for a living.  The host is Nashville rukus-maker Kyle Baker (most notably of Soundcrawl).  The coaches are much more notable:

ALEX CURTIS leads The Creator's Freedom Project, and has spent the last 5 years hosting workshops and consulting with independent musicians like Libby Koch, Parachute Musical, The 1861 Project, Chancellor Warhol, Ocean is Theory, Pam Rose, and Matt King.  He's a go-to expert on how to leverage today's techology and apply your creative skill set to your business. creatorsfreedom.net

JESSICA HENDERSON, Esq. is a licenced copyright and intellectual property attorney in Nashville and has helped artists and musicians in Texas, Colorado and Tennessee.  She works for Sony/ATV Publishing and consults one on one.

KYLE BAKER is  a composer and impresario most known for running the Soundcrawl Festival.  He's been a featured speaker Tennessee Craft, Southeast College Art Conference, Circuit Benders Ball and serves on the board of both ArtsNash and SeedSpace. Consulting clients include Arts at the Airport, Nashville Cultural Arts Project, and the Killer Tribes Conferenece.  His work has been presented at Geek Media Expo, Nashville MiniMaker Faire, and TedX Knoxville.

WHO IS THIS FOR?
Independent creative professionals who are committed to approaching their craft as a freelance entrepreneur.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
The weekend will center on the latest tools and techniques to build an audience that can support you and your work.

HOW MUCH DOES THIS COST?

Early Bird Tickets are $45.  Single Tickets are $60.  Infinite Group Tickets are $150.

WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?
So that we can all come closer to realizing our full potential as creative professionals.  The rules of creating a career in an internet society are the same for everybody- authors, restaurants, startups, producers, actors, brands.  It's why this is for Creators.

WHY YOU GUYS?
Because you will get more done with us than you will on your own.  Additionally, a book, video, or website can't address your specific situation the way live coaches can. Think of this like a day of personal training for your "creative professional" muscles.
Tickets start at $45!
